Eric, a child of hope...

Today, precious Eric arrived at our homes! Eric is one of 5 siblings who daily struggled since their parents died years ago. In a few weeks, his younger sister will be joining him! Life consistsed of searching for food, fetching water and sticks and attending school when he has found enough food. He is 12 years old, very quiet and to himself; loving in a deep way. After a short time with the other children, his smile and laugh began to come out! I look at Eric, being 12; having the mentality of an adult and the instincts to clearly survive. Today, when they received a cup of milk in the afternoon, he stared at it for quite some time before Momma Agnes asked him "Do you drink milk?" He smiled and replied "yes!" And that was it... the milk was gone in seconds. Eric, like all the other children are very malnutritioned; it has begun to affect his skin and body. Today, Eric is on the road to health. And might I add... so grateful, polite and smart.

.

Eric has taken the place of Amese, one of the boys we were going to take in who was Muslim. Once Amese's responsible's came to know that we are a Christian organization loving and serving God, they refused for him to come to our homes. In this, we hope that a family member will arise and provide for Amese and Ashura as both of their parents have died and they live in very harsh conditions; severely malnutritioned.

.

How we desire to take in all orphaned and abandoned children that come our way right now... oh how we wish. In the near future, we are beginning the process to build many orphan homes upon our land and will be able to help so many more children. The need is VAST. One child. One hope. One. at a time.,.
