Tonny: 3 years old; he was born out of prostitution and is rejected by his siblings whose father passed away years ago. Tonny went without food often; even up to two days at times. Daily, he was found begging for food at the neighbors houses as the other children could travel long distances to beg, but him being but 3 remained on the mountain. Their house consists of one room for the momma and 6 children to sleep. Today, Tonny is happy for a warm bed at night and food to fill his belly and help him grow. Today, Tonny has hope.
Jimmy: 6 years old; Jimmy was found in the forest abandoned right after birth. A little boy went to go pee and stumbled upon him. They brought him to the nearest hospital and were able to save him. An old mama took him into he care for the past6 years and is no longer able to provide for him. Her children are all adults and requested her to get rid of the boy as he is not a part of their family. Being very old, she fears his future when she dies and knows there will be no one to care for him.Jimmy has been through many traumatic things and needs alot of counseling and love. He is very conservative in his interaction with anyone and speaks few words. Once you win his heart, he's a completely different little boy! Daily we are working on positive behavior, and know through Christ he can be restored and happy.
Vernist: 7 years old; Vernist lived with his other 4 siblings, the oldest being 18. They lived in a mud hut that is in very bad condition. Often they go without food, and are struggling daily. Vernist is severely malnutritioned having height / weight marks of many children around the age of 3. In the past he did very poorly in school, we believe that will change with having a stable home along with help in his studies.
David: 6 years old; He has 6 siblings. The father of his siblings passed away, and their family was in a difficult situation. The mother did prostitution to be able to feed the family and got pregnant with David. David's siblings reject him, and declare that he is not a part of their family. The mother isn't able to care for all 7 children, they often go hungry and are sick. With no work and no Field to cultivate food. She sees no future for her children and fears they won't survive. David, hes a happy little boy; willing to help anyone with anything.
Claude: 10 years old; he is the older sibling of Vernist. Precious and sweet as ever. When we play with and love on these 2 brothers, it breaks our hearts to know what they have endured in their short time of living. Losing both parents and struggling daily for more than 7 years. This is their hope. They look towards the future, and forget the worries of seeking food daily and the fear of safety in the night. Today. They smile, laugh and see the love of God poured out; just for them.
