Today is day 4 and we have about 16 workers doing the driveway, painting, building the kitchen, building the fence and just cleaning up the property. I never could of imagined how impacting this part of our work here would be for the community. Yes. We are providing jobs so people can buy food for their families; but this isn't what I find to be the most impacting. Everyday, Isai, Pontien and myself are working with these people, loving on them, talking to them, buying bananas and avocados to share with them... its really a fun time. When we have new workers, we make it personal discussing their name, their wives, their children, and how they are doing. Something I heard once that I have found to be so true is if you have happy workers, you as a boss will be happy yourself. Surprisingly today, we are almost finished painting the inside of house one, along with the back fence being completed!

These men and boys are simple, some not even having shoes when they arrive at work. Its even a bit strange doing house repairs here as we don't have a home depot. If you need something, you hope they have something like it in the market and if not, you have to wait until you go to the Capital; in hopes that they would have it there! However, we are making due and Isai is doing an amazing job of leading these men. The outside workers are making roughly $1.20 per day, while the painters are making about $1.50, along with the builders making about $2.40. I had to post all these pictures because when I looked upon them it made me smile! I hope it does the same for you! Until next time...
