Living here. In the heart of Africa, a little country named Burundi. Surely it's everything we could of imagined, and more... More joy, more fulfillment, more pain, more testing... much, much more of many things than we ever could of imagined; or ever would of thought to even ponder on! The warm embrace we feel when we hold our children... knowing that now, now they are O.K. The frustration we feel when time and time again... people try to find different angles to take advantage of you. The joy we feel when our staff and kids have those belly laughs together (oh, how we love to see them laugh). The deep, indescribable sadness we feel as our nieces and nephews grow up in our absence... maturing... and having so many important milestones we would give anything to be a part of. The fulfillment we feel as we see a community being transformed, given many opportunities at a better life. They are dear to the heart of the Father and He has made a way for them. The mercy and grace of God we feel, without it we have nothing. Simply no strength to do anything good here, out of our own power, nothing lasting. By far, it's everything we could of imagined, and more...
The pictures above were taken when Isai brought Eric, Claude and Anacre to Bukeye to eat, sleep and work... He wanted to teach them how to build, and how awesome is it that they got to lay some of the bricks to their very own house? Their very rooms... Eric caught on quickly (pictured alone with Isai)... and wants to build homes when he grows up. The other 2 weren't as interested, but funny enough when they saw me taking a picture they jumped on in and began working again! (with Malaki on Claude's shoulder's)...! It was an awesome time, and they are all preparing to go back to school in about 2 weeks! Until next time...
