Stitchers of love, a love stitched within...

It all started at a friends party... (nice first line, right?) We got to know Susan, visiting her son here in Burundi. She mentioned that she had some dolls and would like to give them to some children who could appreciate them... so I told her about our kids. After countless times of heading to the city and forgetting to pick them up, or not being able to connect, we finally got them! It's a great thing, many US mothers, stitching unique little dolls out of yarn in Massachusetts! We laid them all before the kids and let them pick, and to say the least, they loved them! They put them on their backs, in their beds, anywhere and everywhere you could think of. They even put a pin on them which reads "I am loved" in french! Just wanted to share our grate fullness for the effort these Mom's put into the stitching, making each one special... knowing that one day they would be in the arms of someone who needed them the most. Thanks, Mom's.

Lets talk about the pictures! 1. Sabine and I. She works with the children's program in the Anglican Church here in Burundi and I thought it would be nice to send some their way to use as examples while teaching. (She actually thought of the idea, I simply agreed!) 2. Vernust, so happy. Can you tell? 3. Cedria, taking her time as she picks out just the right one for her. (Hey! It's an important decision for a 3 year old!) 4. Evo and Mal. They love each other, and are always together. 5. Audrey looking over the dolls, amazed at the uniqueness of each doll; from glasses to headbands, to jewelry to just the simple nice ones... they each had a special touch. Until next time...
