We enjoyed an amazing celebration with our dear friends from Sozo Ministries Africa as we joined then in praising God for the miracle he gave them in receiving their registration from the Burundian government along with simply thanking God for His goodness. It was the first time I have been at a celebration with the Burundian Drummers, haven't seen anything like it! Just amazing. While at this celebration, two visions I had in 2004 and 2005 came back to remembrance and began to remind me of why we are here... to rescue and restore orphaned and abandoned children and give them a hope for the future.
.
The first vision in 2004 was of me walking down the mountain on a green beautiful pasture with a multitude of children behind me with a glimpse of hope in their eyes and a smile of joy on their faces... simply expressions of deliverance. A vision that's quite short and to the point.
.
The second vision in 2005 I was walking down a steep mountain into a valley surrounded by mountains on each side. In the midst of the valley was a barn like building with two wide opening doors in the middle, quite large and tall. I was led to this barn through cries of children calling out for help. As I arrived at the barn, I saw a big metal lock on the outside as though someone had put these children in there and locked them in from the outside. As we broke the lock off and swung the doors open, there was a multitude of children of all ages piled up inside. We took them out one by one looking them in the eyes and seeing pure devastation. We left this building together, as one family seeking a new life, seeking hope... seeking a future. The interesting thing about this vision was that the barn like building was in the middle of no where... no village, no water, no food; nothing but children crying out to be rescued.
.
I remember these two trance like visions vividly, and am encouraged as we proceed forward to take in and care for orphaned and abandoned children. Its amazing to see how the land we are receiving from the government is on the top of a mountain like plain, somehow we are continually reminded that God is simply in control and orchestrating everything. We are but instruments in the hands of God. Until next time...
