We had an amazing time this past Easter weekend deep in the mountains of Muyinga in a village called "Cobero"; bordering Tanzania. We spent many days with the people and the local church in the mountains doing toothbrush and hygiene classes for the children; along with teachings of love, healing and restoration for the men and women of the village. In the class for the children we had originally prepared ourselves for about 80 children... that number was well exceeded! On an interesting note, some of the children have never seen a foreigner and their first response was that we were "ghosts"! Another asked Isai, do you eat children... you are so big! Over all, it was an amazing weekend as we were able to really speak with the people concerning good and bad traditions to keep or let go of... along with just encouraging them to be hopeful and wait on the Lord. Although its a hard life they see day to day with lacking running water and electricity and being in the midst of much sickness... they still have a joy that surpasses all understanding. Until next time...
