God's faithfulness.

The UN (United Nations) is moving the majority of their people and efforts out of Burundi and in the midst of liquidating have tremendously blessed us. From desks to chairs to a sports pack to tables (some 8 feet long; perfect for our cafeteria meeting room!) Endless blessings in a time of great need. Hints today's post: God's faithfulness.

The UN is usually present in a country in the midst of war or a country in need of peacekeeping assistance among many other things. The fact that they are moving on to other hot spots gives a hope that there is a sustained peace in Burundi at the present time. Even in the midst of some provinces still having some issues, in general I can say things are at ease. We are grateful for the generous materials and know that it's yet another piece of the puzzle to our children given a hope for their futures, a hope to dream.
Cedria, who is 4 came to be with our big family a few days ago! She is the sister of Desire who is 1 year old... Her situation was difficult and it's very evident in her character. She is very reserved and doesn't speak much; very happy to be with us. She immediately got attached to her Mama Asira, it was precious to watch her follow her around every step for the first few days. Today, for the first time she ran at me with open arms patting my back; at first, she was afraid and little by little she has opened up; I am confident she was drawn in by the affection she saw me giving to the others. By far, out of our all children she has been the most reserved! Cedria loves to draw and make pictures though... she sure does! We are excited to watch this precious gift from God grow and flourish in our family. She is safe, and has a home... God's faithfulness. Until next time...

  1. That's incredible! How encouraging! I was praying for the little girl since we got the email update. I know she is so happy to have a stable home and family to care for her. We'd love to see some of her artwork! (That may be an idea for fundraising too, cards?) Love you guys!
